Orlando Silver (he/they) is a writer working on Dharug & Gundungurra lands in Sydney, Australia.
About
Orlando holds a BA in Theatre from Western Sydney University and a Playwriting certificate from NIDA. He also holds a Diploma in Community Services, and is midway through an MA Counselling.
Orlando has 23 years experience in community services, activism and community enagagement. 8 of these years were spent in LGBTIQA+ organisations. He has coordinated festivals, conferences, retreats and large scale gatherings.
He the founder and Director of Incision Press, an international queer & trans independent publishing company run on Gadigal lands, Sydney.

Residencies & Scholarships
Orlando is the founder of the Write Hard Program. Through the inception of this program in 2002, he has taught hundreds of LGBTIQA+ students through mentorships, online/ in person classes and a recent writing retreat.
Orlando was recently a Guest Judge at the Outstanding Short Story Competition (2025). He was the Guest Curator at the 2024 Enqueer Festival. In 2024, Orlando was the Facilitator of the Westwords LGBTIQA+ Illuminate Ink 6 month intensive program.
